Melatonin: Think of it as the sleep fairy that helps your baby wind down and get ready for dreamland. Melatonin levels rise in the evening. It loves darkness, so make sure your little one's room is dark and cozy.
Cortisol: This hormone is useful in the morning to help little one’s wake up for the day with energy but in the evening it acts as a stress monster that can mess with your baby's sleep. It has a similar effect to caffeine causing your little one to become wired and hyper. Keep it away at night by avoiding overtiredness.
Serotonin: This is the happy hormone that helps your baby feel relaxed and sleepy. Get your little one plenty of daylight and social time during the day to boost it.
Dopamine: This is the fun hormone that keeps your baby alert and energetic during the day. Make sure they have lots of playtime and positive experiences so they are ready for a good night’s sleep to do it all again the next day.
